~ A Child's Cancer Journey ~

On the 18th of August 2011, my daughter Sasha was diagnosed with Lymphoblastic Lymphoma, (New diagnosis, Sept 1st, Leukemia), a cancer of the lymph nodes & lymph system. This blog will be a documentation of her journey through her fight, our fight as a family & our defeat.

Thank you for following & thank you in advance for your support.

We will defeat.

Smile for the camera!

We’ve begun visiting Sasha’s old grade-1 teacher, whom is actually retired now. Madame Annick, was someone that Sasha always thought highly of & I know that Madame Annick also loved Sasha. Sasha is a great student, cooperative, obedient, intelligent, respectful, a good peer. Knowing that Annick was to return to Sasha’s school the following school year, to volunteer at the school… filing up Annick’s days & enabling her dependence for these children that kept her going on throughout the years… I knew I had to tell her. She was one of the first people I wrote within the first week. Unfortunately, for Annick, she was on her way to Italy the following day. I’m sure this tore her apart & many moments during her vacation, she most probably thought about Sasha a lot… actually, I know she did, as we received an email from her all the way from Italy!

Upon Annick’s return, Sasha had the opportunity that no other of Annick’s old students more than likely have… to visit Madame Annick in her home!!

During her first visit, Sasha got to explore Annick’s home. Looking around at all of her little thingamagigs! I left them alone for a little, to spend quality time, as I ran to Wal-Mart to buy cat food! When I returned, Sasha had already gotten into doing origami with Annick & chose her patterns for a quilt!! Yep, Annick will teach her to quilt! How fun is that.

Second visit, was after Annick spent a little weekend visit in New York. Annick came back with some goodies to make Sasha smile… and smiling is indeed what Sasha did!

Annick brought her back a gorgeous little fairy costume. In which you’ll be able to see in color shortly… maybe!!

Considering everything, this child still smiles almost all day… I sometimes don’t get it! I’m guessing she feels the love from all the thoughts, in everyone’s minds.

Thank you all to those who help her smile, because her smile is absolutely stunning, she lights up a room, and even more so, now that she has no hair, with her big blue eyes & the sparkle in the corner of her mouth.

Thank you!

We will defeat.
